Yellow or red liquid. Boiling point: 79 C. Reacts violently with ° water, evolving hydrogen chloride and sulphur dioxide, irritating and corrosive gases. In the presence of moisture, highly corrosive to most metals. Causes severe burns to skin, eyes and mucous membranes.
